betsy & iya Fall 2008 campaign

This week marks the launch of a new web site for betsy & iya jewelry, featuring the Fall 2008 campaign we shot in our studio. It was a hectic day of shooting, involving five talented models, each with their own unique before-and-after looks, the tireless work of a makeup artist and a hairstylist, all built around large, ornate, and amazing pieces of jewelry!

We had a great team that clicked wonderfully, so the creative energy flowed with incredible ease, and our models each did an amazing job of conveying their hilarious “before” looks, and their gorgeous “after” transformations. It was definitely one of the more fun ways we’ve spent an 8-hour day!

Here’s just one of the before-and-after sets we shot that day. It’s hard for us to choose a favorite, so you’ll likely be seeing more of these from us in the near future.

Betsy & Iya: Product Photos

We recently got our first crack at the amazing pieces created by jewelry designer Betsy & Iya, when we got together to do product photography for some of her latest pieces! Betsy makes an amazing variety of pieces, from all kinds of different materials, and this is just a very small taste of what she’ll be offering on her soon-to-be-redesigned website.

Stay tuned for Part II of our project with her: photos showcasing some of her largest, most gorgeous pieces, transporting a few lovely ladies into their own stylish worlds! We’re really pleased to be working with her on both aspects of the project, and we’re enjoying working with her on bringing this next part of her vision to life.

Dark Glasses

Just stopping in with a quick shot from last week. The rest of the shoot was mainly commercial/lifestyle, but we couldn’t help detouring a little into fashion shooting, especially when she had such a great outfit on.

I liked how this one turned out after I finished processing it, and it required very little work. It was also simple on setup: the lighting was all afternoon sun. Sometimes, you just can’t beat Mother Nature!

This was one of many shoots we’ve done incorporating accessories from Orange Moon Creations. They’re a startup operation, and their knit bags, such as the one in the photo, are hand-made and felted at their home base in Boston, MA.

We also did a series of shoots a few months back with their newest product, musicMitts, but instead of using models, we worked with local musicians to show off the gloves in a realistic context.

This shot was deemed a little too “street” for what the company was after, and it doesn’t showcase the gloves as well as it could, but it’s easily one of my favorites from the shoot. We created a great mood with a simple setup, and the colors came together wonderfully.

We regularly offer catalog and advertisement photography, and we always do our best to tailor each project to your needs and your budget. Our rates can be surprisingly affordable, so whether you’re a company that’s just getting started, or one that’s more established, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
