Dragging it Out

We always enjoy it when a client throws a fun twist into a portrait shoot, so when we were asked to shoot drag portraits, we were pretty darned thrilled with the idea!

We first went for a smoky, sultry, retro-inspired theme (think Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction), so he brought the outfit, and we dug up some richly-colored furniture and fabrics, and suggested a cigarette holder as a prop. The studio got pretty thick with smoke while we shot the set, but everything meshed so well with the dramatic lighting of the shots that we didn’t mind *too* much. 🙂

The second look was more of a pop-punk/goth look, featuring a truly awesome wig with shiny red coils! We played off of the blacks and reds in the ensemble, and got some cute and expressive headshots.

Both looks turned out fabulous, and we have the lovely Amity Givens to thank for the gorgeous makeup and feminine finish! This was easily one of the most fun portrait shoots we’ve ever done, and the whole team had a great afternoon.
