Travel and art photography in China

This is surely the worst picture we’ll likely ever post on our blog… and for good reason: I’m processing photos today, so I could only break stride long enough for a quick snap from my Macbook’s built-in webcam!

That is a passport in my hand, which I just received yesterday with a shiny new travel visa. I’ll soon be traveling to China for two weeks, to explore the country, soak in the culture, and of course, to photograph the sights! My group’s travel itinerary will be finalized soon, and we’ll be visiting Beijing, as well as Xian and other lesser-known parts of the country. I’ll also have the opportunity to train with some of the top wushu masters in the world, and as a dedicated wushu practitioner of over 5 years, I can’t even begin to tell you how much that excites me!

This will be my first time traveling off the continent, and I can’t wait to see the places that I’ve only read about. I’ll be documenting the journeys we take, and I’m definitely looking forward to sharing some interesting shots with you all when I return, so you can see a bit of China through my eyes.

P.S. Yes, Ben will be in Portland to hold down the fort while I’m away… so keep those bookings coming! 🙂
